"Dictation works in Notion's web version but not the desktop app." Almost always a permissions issue with the Notion desktop app. Make sure macOS has granted microphone access AND accessibility permissions to your dictation tool — the desktop Notion is a separate process from the browser.

"The text appears in the page title instead of the block I wanted." Click into the block first. Notion's title field has a different focus state than the body blocks; if your last click was in the title, your dictation goes there.
